A Process Built To Remove Uncertainty

Every Stevens Design & Build project follows the same six-stage process, from first consultation to final handover, so you always know what happens next and what it will cost, before any work ever begins on your home.

Design Leads. The Build Follows.

Fixed Proposal

Most builders come off the tools and start a building company. We started with design, and that shapes everything about how we work.

Our design and build process exists to protect that difference: full visualisation before you commit, a fixed price before we start, and one accountable person throughout, from first sketch to final handover.

Why We Work This Way

22% of build projects end in dispute. Our process exists to make sure that never happens to you, with every decision agreed and signed off before any work begins.

Full 2D and 3D visualisation means what you approve on screen is exactly what gets built. There is no ambiguity about layout, finish or detail, because everything has already been agreed before a single wall comes down.

A fixed-price proposal, agreed before work starts, means your budget is protected from surprises during the build, whatever comes up along the way, so you can plan with complete confidence from day one.

One Contract. One Point of Contact.

Every trade, every material and every stage of your project is managed under a single contract. Kevin is your single point of contact from the first consultation through to handover.

There is no rotating cast of site managers and no confusion about who is responsible for what. One person oversees your project from start to finish, and that person is Kevin.

Our process

How We Deliver Every Project

From the first conversation to the final handover, every project follows the same six-stage process. It is designed to remove uncertainty, keep you informed and make sure what you approve is always what gets built.

Feasibility Tab

FREE CONSULTATION

We visit your home, listen to your brief and give you an honest view of what is achievable. There is no obligation and no sales pitch, just a straightforward conversation about your project and what it could look like.

Feasibility

Feasibility

We assess layout possibilities, planning requirements and structural considerations for your project. Ideas become a clear, properly costed plan, giving you a solid, realistic foundation before any design work begins.

Design Build

Design & Visualisation

Our in-house team produces complete 2D plans and full 3D renders of your project. You see every room and every detail before anything is agreed.

Fixed Proposal

Fixed Proposal

Once the design is signed off, we produce a detailed fixed-price proposal covering every element of the build. The figure agreed at this stage does not change.

Expert Build

We coordinate every trade, every material and every stage of the build under one contract. Kevin is your single point of contact throughout.

Handover & Aftercare

On completion, we walk through every detail with you against the agreed design, room by room. Your project is handed back with a 12-month workmanship warranty.

Why This Process Exists

The process was not designed to slow you down. It exists because it is the only way we know to protect both your project and your peace of mind.

22% of build projects end in dispute, usually because expectations were never properly agreed in the first place. Every stage of our process exists to close that gap, so what you expect and what you get are always the same thing.

That is the whole point.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most.

What happens if I want to make changes after the fixed proposal is agreed?

Once the proposal is signed off, the price is fixed. If you would like to make changes, we will always talk it through honestly and agree any impact on cost or schedule before proceeding.

It depends on the size and complexity of the project, but we would rather take the time to get the design right than rush a stage that protects everything that follows.

No. Full 2D and 3D visualisation is a fixed part of our process for every project, because it is what protects both you and us from misunderstandings later.

Who do I speak to once the build is under way?

Kevin remains your single point of contact throughout the build, so you always know exactly who to speak to.

We will tell you honestly, and work with you to find an approach that is achievable, rather than proceeding with a design that was never going to work.

The stages stay the same for every project, though the time spent at each one will naturally be shorter for smaller, simpler jobs.
