THE BRIEF
Hedgerley House called for something unexpected: a modern, metal-finished kitchen inside a Grade II listed extension. The clients wanted their love of vintage motorcycles reflected in the design, along with practical storage and easy-to-clean surfaces. A traditional shaker kitchen was ruled out early. Every decision was visualised and agreed before the build began, so what was approved is exactly what was built.

The house is Grade II listed. The kitchen didn't have to match it. That contrast was the whole point.
A traditional shaker kitchen would have been the obvious choice inside a listed property. Instead, the design leaned into contrast, translating the client's love of vintage motorcycles into a modern, metal-finished kitchen that still works properly, room by room.
